Water Safety Course
This is a great course for Parents, Grandparents, Babysitters, Child Care Providers, Camp Counselors or anyone that spends time with children in, on or near the water.
Safety Training and Aquatic Rescue (STAR) is a basic water safety course designed for parents and caregivers who are responsible for children in, on or near water. The course meets regulatory requirements for water safety training and the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Delivered through [online learning, a blended approach including online learning and an in-person classroom session] participants are not required to be in the water or know how to swim and earn a certificate upon completion.
This course is designed to provide you with water safety information that is practical and will help you recognize what is important and can make a difference in preventing drowning. The information presented with focus in five key areas:
- Risk Awareness
- Prevention
- Surveillance
- Helping someone that is in trouble in the water
- Emergency Care
This course is competed online. There is no classroom portion for this course.
